Check Out Our Committees

Below you can learn about the amazing work that our committees do throughout East County!
This committee collaborates with educators and the workforce community to develop and retain a skilled-workforce. Developing a well-educated/well-trained workforce requires deliberate and continuous effort, so high schools, community colleges, universities, and businesses work together to build a vital workforce by sharing information and resources. Cooperation and collaboration help identify required workplace skills, link students with the appropriate educational programs, and streamline the entire process from education to employment.
Be part of a team that focuses on the region airports and surrounding areas and industry, as an economic asset for future development of the region. This committee includes representatives from San Diego County Airports, SANDAG, CalTrans, the Gillespie Field Development Council, the cities of El Cajon and Santee, the County of San Diego, and business focused on redevelopment on/around the airport
The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee, or CEDS for short, is a partnership between East County EDC, South County EDC, and the City of San Diego to improve the prosperity of our businesses and quality of life in the CEDS area. The CEDS committee review and approves region-wide economic development funding proposals to the U.S. Economic Development Administration. CEDS aims to improve infrastructure, drive investment, grow the talent base and increase the economic potential of San Diego County’s most underserved communities.
Be part of the Expo planning, our goal is to Empower job seekers and students to explore amazing opportunities that manufacturing career fields provide. ECEDC annually hosts the Manufacturing Expo & Resource Fair in October as a part of the U.S. Manufacturing Day, a nationwide effort to display today’s manufacturing and dispel common misconceptions. This event is open to the public and has grown in the last several years to host over 500 local manufacturers, resource providers, jobseekers, students, and general members of the public.
