La Mesa Business Disaster Recovery Fund

The La Mesa Disaster Recovery Fund was created by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce Foundation to help businesses damaged or destroyed in the aftermath of opportunistic violence and looting following peaceful Black Lives Matter demonstrations in La Mesa. The fund reached $50,000 in a single day, and $100,000 by the second day. The fund total reached more than $200,000.
With support from the East County Economic Development Council and in cooperation with the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce and City of La Mesa officials, business owners applied for funds and received checks after providing evidence of physical damage. The La Mesa Disaster Recovery Fund is now closed to donations. Thank you to the many donors who offered their generous support to assist the La Mesa based businesses.
